Ceramics and Tile museums, Jackfield and Coalport

Amongst the many museums in the Ironbridge Gorge, we were really interested in visiting the tile and ceramic museums (partly because Amy is a ceramicist, and partly because, well, Middle Age is happening).

The tile museum in Jackfield is a working site, but a really nice museum has been created in part of the historical factory.

Studies of the tiles.  Looking for ideas for the new house.

Trying something a little more experimental and abstract with long-exposure settings.

We also nipped over the river to the similar site at Coalport, which is more focussed around things like plates, cups, and more domestic ceramics. Photography was a little tricky with the display cabinets, but there were still a few things which looked like inspiration for future projects.

Lovely spiral staircase.
