Easter saw us going on holiday as a family, with a couple of old friends, to Glastonbury in Somerset for a week. I (Ben) hadn't been around this way since a camping holiday as a child, and none of the others knew the area well, so we thought it would be a good spot to visit.
Naturally it involved a trip to a station (research for a model-making project to be done later in the year).
A nice sunny start to the holiday.
The main point of the day was to hit the beach though; a couple of our group wanted a day out at the seaside, though the sea was rather muddy and it was a bit too breezy for punting a beach ball around.
After perusing the interesting shops of the high street, we went for a walk up the hill above the town, aiming for a nice church and some gardens.
Nice vintage streetlights.
It's been a while since we've just done any photography for the sake of it (as opposed to magazine work or art projects), so just looked for interesting things to shoot pics of.
The church, high on the hills over the town, was very nice indeed, and the church grounds made a nice spot to relax in the sunshine for a bit after we'd had a visit inside.
Lots of pretty thatched cottages and the like; it was interesting to look at the different ages of housing spreading up and down the valley, you could judge the expansion of Minehead over the decades.
Good views over the town.
The weather was clouding up a bit by the time we got back down to town, so it was time for one last snap of a train in the station, a fish and chip tea, then off back to Glastonbury before a day out in Wells....
