A weekend sans-the-Childs in late October gave an opportunity for a few shots at the Victorian Weekend on the Ffestiniog Railway. A lovely event with a nice atmosphere. Above is the Single-Fairlie near Minfford. A new location for photography here, but parking was a bit iffy so we might not be adding this to our list.
Thanks to poor planning on our part, most of the pictures ended up with the locos facing the wrong way. In a way we did end up featuring in a railway magazine, oddly enough, but only because the photographer who was out of shot on the other side of the line got a photo of a northbound train immediately after this, and me and Amy are technically in said pic, obscured by the loco... Most annoying, because not many people know of this location (the footpath having only recently been opened up) and with a train facing the right way it would be quite nice.
Heading back for the car, and at last, something facing the right way!
Standing alongside the stone embankment gave opportunity for yet another super-low-angle shot, and then a face full of steam and oil.
Harbour Station finally, and the England tank locos shunting. Only a few train pics this time, but it was nice to have the opportunity at all.
