National Railway Museum

A trip to York for the joint purposes of a combined families day out, and a visit to get inspiration shots for the "Alice" sculpture-build this time.  Much of this visit was to the National Café Museum- sorry, National Railway Museum.  I shouldn't be bitter I suppose, as its a free museum, and in the age of budget cuts these places need to sell as much food and gifts as possible to survive, but there didn't half have a lot of places to buy food.

The very impressive O-gauge railway was running.

We got a bit bored of 'normal' angles, fairly quickly...

...and the problem of trying to keep people out of the shots.

So then it was into 'arty shot' mode, and a few zooms.

Into the main hall, which has some slightly odd lighting.

Some nicely abstract reflections though with the reflections of the blue and grey roof.

A somewhat modern end to the visit, with the Eurostar power car under repair for display.  More shots will be going up in the model making blog soon.
