City Hall, Bradford, is a remarkable building. Considering the changing fortunes of the city, it's nice to see such a place that preserves such a large amount of its historical features.
We were there for a Scouting Awards ceremony for Younger Child; we used to regularly attend these as the official photographers in previous years, but were there in the audience this time.
The corridor outside the chamber.
Nice typography on the doors.
With the highly detailed outside of the building, it's always interesting to see the 'behind the scenes' areas; even here there are nice features, like the white ceramic bricks, and the ornate ironwork on the drainage pipes.
Around the inside of the building there are little touches like the tiles in the bathrooms...
...and even the bolts on the doors.
Back in the corridors, and it's more wooden panelling and carved stonework.
Some day it would be nice to do a top-to-tail visit to this building, and document loads of these features. Possibly something for the future.
