High in the hills (well, mountains), above Val Thorens...
We awoke one morning to find a dusting of snow up on the peaks, and decided we really ought to try getting up in to it. Well, it's not often you experience snow in August.
Arrival at Val Thorens was a little dissapointing, initially, as some of the cable car runs weren't working, due to the 'weather conditions'. We thought this was hysterical, and wondered how they coped in a Ski area with more than the three or four inches they'd had overnight.
So close, yet so far.
A quick trip down the valley though took us to an open cable car run.
We've been worse places for a picnic :)
Really loved these installations up on the tops.
We decided to head for Mont Blanc itself later in the holiday...
Yeah, snow in August. You couldn't fault the views.
