Having mentioned in a previous post how eccentric the architecture and design is up in the Alps, this place really took the biscuit.
Up in the stunningly-beautiful, snow-capped mountains, is this little settlement of 1960's concrete, tower blocks, and car parks.
This is Val Thorens, with it's modernist church and 60's shopping precinct.
Honestly, this place looks like it was imagined by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's production team.
If I (Ben) thought that Courchevel looked like the 1960's Bullring centre, it was nothing compared to the shops here. British indoor market vibes.
Mindyou, there was something appealing about the place, and once you got the cable-cars up the hill it was as stunningly beautiful as anywhere in the 3 Valleys.
