Robin Hood's Bay

And so, to Robin Hood's Bay.  This place has been on the list of locations to visit for a long time, and though it was sunny, our trip to the beach wasn't exactly about sandcastles and beach balls.  However, the absolute battering the area got from the storm had exposed a load of fossils, which would be the focus of the day...

First though, the very pretty village itself.

Lots of nice little stone houses and cottages, and interesting alleyways and paths.

And so, down onto the beach.

This is the sort of thing we were after; fossils, such as this Ammonite.  We had a pretty successful haul between us, something that we only really regretted when slogging back up the hill to the car...

Amy also took the opportunity for some more panoramic shots.
