Staithes by Day

Another one on the 'to do' list was Staithes; several people we know (family, friends, workmates) encouraged us to go, as it was such a nice little place.

The storms of the weekend had mostly blown themselves out by the time of our visit.

You certainly find out how fit your knees and chests are, walking around these little coastal villages.

Walking down to the Lifeboat Station which had a great little shop.

Some more detail shots around the village.  More of those nice ceramic bricks along the edges of the streets too.

We also went a bit tourist-y too, photographing the lobster pots.  To the slight derision of the actual fishermen, but we were struck by the colours, the compositions, etc.

Finally, out to the breakwater, where the rough seas were still somewhat in evidence.

Time for a bit of a change for the next post, and a long-planned return to Beamish Museum whilst we were staying relatively close to it.
