Struggling with underwater shots and inflatables...

As mentioned in the post with the red and white beachball, I wanted to get some more shots with inflatables this year, partly for an open call, and partly to bulk-out the existing "Inflate Deflate" series (updating the shots I have now I have better camera gear).

But, well, summer has failed to launch this year hasn't it... this was attempt one at the end of May.

Still, the odd lighting made for some dramatic underwater shots.

The next attempt was made at the same time as the attempts at the 'in the air' shots with the giant ball.

The problem this time?  The sea was so calm that it was effectively a giant mirror.

The plan had been to get some shots of the red and white ball from under the water, but it was just too big to get properly in shot.

Trying some with the camera on the surface.

The ones with the ring were a little more succesful.

Shame about the amount of seaweed.

And then the batteries packed in, and the light was fading too, rendering the planned last few shots with the regular-sized beachball un-complete-able (if that's the right term).

And that was the shoot aborted, with a plan to have another go when we came back in July...
