The Darkness and the Light, at Water Street Gallery...Amy

A new venue for us, and a new exhibition opportunity...  "The Darkness and the Light" at the Water Street Gallery, Todmorden.

First off, a few pics in the immediate area; we've never really been to Todmorden before, it's just been a road junction on the way to Manchester.  Admittedly it was a lovely day we went to drop off the work, but it certainly was very pretty in the area near the gallery.

The gallery itself; the outside view really doesn't convey just what a Tardis of a place this is, with multiple rooms inside for the work.

Amy chose to enter 6 of her shots from her Light Trails series, from a set shot at Blackpool.

All 6 shots were chosen, which was a pleasant surprise.

The pics are another batch done almost entirely in-camera; the only modifications afterwards being slight crops, and some minor tweaking of the contrast.

We'd acutally already got these entries printed before our trip to Blackpool this October, which has given Amy a few new angles for if this project gets picked up again in the future.

We're actually typing this having just come back from the opening night; we managed to snap a few pics before the place got very busy indeed.  A nice atmosphere, and a really eye-catching mix of work on display.

Amy's work was spread around the gallery; also quite tricky to get photographs of the work (glossy prints in glossy frames) but they looked good up on the wall.

It's been good fun giving the project another airing, and the gallery at Water Street is a fascinating place.  Hopefully we'll get chance to do something else with them in the future.  In the meantime, there'll be a post coming up soon with some work that Ben entered successfully for the same show.
