Runswick Bay

Wanting to get in a bit more fossil-hunting before the end of the holiday, we headed out to Runswick Bay.

The weather was taking a turn for the dramatic as we arrived, and the tide was on its way on, so with one eye warily on the sea, we set out along the beach.

Interesting bit of coastline, colours and patterns in the sand.  Coal deposits apparently.

Ammonite bed.

We managed a couple of hours before the rising tides sent us heading back for the car park.

Rest assured, we can find a railway to photograph anywhere...
